If I could stay...
If I was rich, or just became a trophy wife, I would definitely stay in London.
I would probably have to find myself a rich man because I don't think teaching little kids would buy me a big mansion in Hampstead. So, if that was the case I would do a lot of gardening (in my big backyard), read loads of books, go for long walks with our two dogs, play ukulele and do some charity for youngsters from disadvantaged backgrounds. Maybe even learn how to cook.
If this ever becomes a reality, I would like to invite all of you over for a great dinner party. If you do get too drunk or just eat too much, feel free to stay in one of our many many guest rooms.
Lots of love, Anne and future husband x

Toronto. The ideal city.
If I had to choose a place to live in, it would definitely be Toronto. Not only is it a stunning city in general but also charming. It is a big city where you can soon notice a difference between downtown with its high skyscrapers or the CN Tower and the outskirts, where you can find residential areas, but both of them lively and touristy.
Toronto is a city well known for being cosmopolitan and multicultural, playing an important role for emigrants. It is the ideal place to get lost getting around its beautiful streets and pedestrianised areas, just stopping to have a coffee and some 'Timbits' at the famous Tim Hortons or just stare at its famous landmarks.
I think I live in a good place due to its weather mainly. But if I could stop working at least for a term, I would definitely go to this amazing city, despite its weather in winter.

If I had come to London...
If I had come to London to have a bachelor degree, I could speak pretty good English by now.
If I had had a bachelor degree in London, I would not study for IELTS now.
.
And if I did not study for IELTS, I could have spent much more time in order to find a university in London.

If I were going to live in another city...
If I were going to live in another city, I would choose Sichuan, province in the southwest of China.
As long as I can remember I have always wanted to go to China and live there for a while since its culture, food, landscapes and history are appealing to me. So if I hadn't decided to come to London to study English I might have gone to Sichuan and I would now be struggling with my Chinese instead of my English.
This region is famous for being the natural habitat of the Giant Pandas, its extensive forests and impressive highlands, authentic house tea culture, relaxing and slow pace life style and delicious typical cuisine, among others. Therefore, If I were living there, by now I would have tried the most delicious food and seen the most breathtaking sights, I have been volunteering at the Giant Panda Reserve for a couple of months and I would be into any Tibetan Buddhism meditation practice.

If I had the chance to move somewhere...
I would probably choose Canada as I reckon is a beautiful place with great cultural diversity and opportunities to live and settle down. What's more, I'd enjoy its weather in winter more than if I was in Lima where is warm all year round.
For instance, if I lived in Calgary, I could use English in my every day life and go to the mountains on the weekends and do different sports from what I would do if I stayed in Peru. If I learned French, I could also live in Montreal.
I believe these are good places to live but unfortunately it is far from other interesting countries in the world so if I wanted to be able to travel abroad more easily and faster I would choose somewhere in Europe, probably in France or England as they are full of history and culture and I like their languages.
If I had had the opportunity to move there before, perhaps I'd be living in any of these places now!
If I were to choose a place to live....
If I were to choose a place to live, my
footsteps would definitely go to the north of Italy. My pick would be Florence,
the capital city of Tuscany, with its stunning architecture and one-of-a-kind
spirit. It would give me a chance to get steeped in history and art, experience
and get a feel of Italian taste for lots of things. The city, being of an average size, doesn’t probably overwhelm with buzz and clamour typical of a bigger metropolis. If I
had studied some Italian before, which I’m going to do, I would definitely be
living there right now.

If I could live in any city (apart from London) ......
If I could live in any city in the world (apart from London), I would choose to live in Berlin. If I did actually move there, I'd try and get a flat in East Berlin, maybe Kreuzberg (where I took these pictures) or Prenzlauerberg, and of course I'd need to get a job. I've been thinking of spending some time there for quite a long time now, but if I'd moved there a year ago I would have missed out on the chance to go to Peru earlier this year. Having said that, if I were living there now, I'd probably speak pretty good German by now!

Multitasking
Click here to read the full Stylist magazine article about multitasking - I'd love to know what you think! You can post some comments and maybe we can briefly discuss singletasking vs multitasking at the start of tomorrow's class.
Dove Real Beauty Campaign
JUST DO IT
This ad was not the one I was thinking of originally but it still has same message that Nike always put out so nicely – get off your arse and “Just do it”!
Nikes slogan “Just do it” has been around for over 25 years and I think most of us know the reference when your friends say “just do it” out of Nike’s context - if that’s not good branding, then I don’t know!
Check out the video above and see if Nike motivates you to move closer to your dream ;)
This is one of my favourite TV commercials. Nissin, a famous CUP NOODLE company in Japan, collaborated with anime called Akira, which was produced in the 80’s and is still now popular among anime-addicted people. They believe it was the anime that made a foundation of “cool Japan” culture today.
On the other hand, cup noodle is one of the cleverest inventions which help us save time. It’s, in a way, a futuristic food in that age. Just pour hot water, wait for minutes, and you’ll have a perfect meal.
In this film, nobody eats cup noodle, but Nissin didn’t care.
They reckoned collaborating with the anime and the sing given by the famous
singer Hikaru Utada gave value to their products.
Snickers Advertisement
This advert really attractive because it is targeted at
hungry people and who are under pressure as in “dangerous mission”. The very
famous actor Mr Bean was involved to present ironically the main idea.
The strapline is simple and memorable: “You’re not you when
you are hungry”.
The slogan is effective despite being a very short
statement: “GET SOME NUTS”.
POLISH GIGA RECORDER ADVERT
As the commercial is in Polish, you might not get the best bit of it:( It advertises the Netia TV recorder which enables the viewers to record the programmes that, for some reasons, they can't watch at their broadcasting time. The whole thing is incredibly hilarious.
There heve been a series of ads featuring the same actors and following on the same theme. The action takes place in a retirement home. We see a bunch of home residents who appear to have hearing and memory difficulties.
The strength of the ad lies in its humour and use of language. However, on the other hand, some found it outrageous and even offensive. It's all due to the theme which depicts people affected by Alzheimer's disease. The critics argue the ad is ridiculing such people.
What they're saying towards the end is something along these lines:
GUY ENTERING THE ROOM: Have I made it on time for the news programme?
GUYS SITTING IN ARMCHAIRS: Yes.
Yes.
GUY ENTERING THE ROOM: And how about you?
GUYS SITTING IN ARMCHAIRS: No.
No.
YOU'D BETTER USE CONDOMS
Hi everyone!
I have chosen this commercial because I think it's a funny one. At the beginning it doesn't seem that it is advertising the product they are selling. But at the end you see what's being advertised and it makes you think a little bit. The fact that the child is shouting, which is something annoying to most people, has a strong impact. There isn't any impressive or powerful strategy to reach the audience but in my opinion the effectiveness of this advert lies in its simplicity. The target market would be either women or men, teens or adults.
Dear Kitten
The ad that caught my
attention is called "Dear Kitten". It was done by Buzzfeed (a popular
digital publisher) and Friskies (cat food). It is aimed at cat lovers
and generally cat owners. A 60-second version of the ad was aired on TV during
the Super Bowl in the United States and the full version went viral on YouTube.
It
features an old cat talking to a new kitten at home and explaining to him how
life is. It is original and it sounds very serious but it refers to very silly
things which makes it funny and is striking.
I'd recommend it to everyone who owns cats. All in all, Friskies' ads are really creative, relaxing and judging from the comments and reviews they get, these ads have a positive effect on the people who watch them. It shows the understanding of cat behaviour that the creators have which shows that they care about their well-being and nutrition.

Pepsi Advertisement
It is one of the most creative advertisements I have ever seen. However, it is quite offensive to another big brand "Coca Cola". As a result, showing it on TV was forbidden. I really enjoy watching this ad as it makes me laugh as always. If this advertisement were allowed to be shown on TV, it could be a game-changing advertisement. I strongly recommend you to watch this video.
